Now you can just about, sometimes, get wi-fi on national express trains (which for some reason defaults to Swedish adverts and search results) it seems that my last bastion of uninterrupted work has been breached. A 6 hour train journey to Edinburgh used to yield a real burst of creativity and admin, but all I seem to have managed to do on this one is wait for blogs to slowly load. Look, I’ve even updated this page! Next time I’ll just bring pen and paper I think (but then I’ll probably only sadly draw some fake facebook updates). If you are reading this on a train, stop at once! This isn’t the freedom we thought it would be. To try and cleverly beat the system I am traveling back on a sleeper train (leaves Edinburgh at 11.30, arrives in London at 6.30am) ready for a full day’s work tomorrow helping open a branch of Barclays in Surbiton. (Sounds like the plot from a bond film doesn't it, but it's really my life!) That’s going to be a short, bad night of self-doubt, but at least I won’t be online I guess. CommentsLeave a Reply |
