Updates 10/13/2009
Hello all. I will be giving this site a bit of an overhaul in the next few weeks (not quite sure what that means but I think some videos will go up.) Ed and I have been busy working on some Tommy and the Weeks TV projects so sorry for not having updated that site as well, but a giglist will be going up shortly. My next solo gig will be at the lovely Stoke Newington International Airport as part of a fundraiser night. Sat Oct 24th. Hello all. First up thanks to anyone who has come to see either of my two shows at Edinburgh this year. London dates are being fixed as we speak and I'll be getting a gig dates section up here soon too. If you've not been yet but plan to, my free show ends on Saturday evening and Tommy and the Weeks plays til Monday. Both have been going well and getting good reviews, although for the last week I've had a mouth from hell with swollen glands and multiple mouth ulcers. I'm pushing the recommended dosage of berrocca to its very limit. Also, thanks for everyone who wrote a Happiness Moment for "Hey Tom Bell!" These are essentially the audience writing down a happy thought or memory which then get integrated into the show. I'm going to put some of my favourite ones up here, which already includes, from a young girl called Daisy, this winner: "realising that winnie the pooh and rupert the bear have the same middle name" fantastic! Fringe Time 08/12/2009
Hello there. Edinburgh Fringe has begun and is all going well and fine. You can see me in two powerful, different shows: Tommy and the Weeks : Wonderbang at the Pleasance Courtyard, 5.10pm every day (not 18th) hey Tom Bell! My free fringe show which is a the Rowan Caves, Cave 1, 7,10pm every day (not tuesdays) Hey Tom Bell! is finally coming together after a major rewrite, or sort of first write I suppose, which I always seem to do up here. I realised that I didn't want to just do an hour of straight stand up so I have reverted to form and it is another story of the joys of being upbeat. I now get the audience to share their happiest memories in a show about battling cynicism after I lost my notebook (and thus large parts of my show) and ended up doing my first tut. I reckon in a few more days every little bit I've not yet finished will be looking really sharp so if you've not come along yet, do! and if you have, come back, much has changed, cheers! x tom Edinburgh 2009 and TV Appearances 06/15/2009
It's turning out to be a good summer for Tom Bell spotters. Details of my two full length shows have now been released in the Edinburgh Fringe Guide, although I haven't read it yet myself (luckily I remember what shows I'm doing. For ease of access they are here: http://www.edfringe.com/ticketing/detail.php?id=14159 and here: http://www.edfringe.com/ticketing/detail.php?id=15061 BBC ONLINE 05/27/2009
Tommy and the Weeks were part of the launch of the new BBC Comedy site. Or relaunch I suppose. At any rate you can see some new videos here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/extra/video/p0035llh Hey Tom Bell! 03/27/2009
I have just officially signed up to be part of the Edinburgh Fringe again this year. I'll be doing my third full hour on the Free Fringe (http://www.freefringe.org.uk) and a third Tommy and the Weeks show. Two trilogies complete. My solo show is going to be in the Rowan Caves this year, which the Free Fringe have gotten hold of for the first time (they used to be part of the Underbelly) and I had lots of elaborate plans for themes about humanity huddling in a cave at the end of the world. But in the end I decided to just do an hour of "straight" stand up. I should probably try and get some arts and crafts into it again though. nxecwifi 02/17/2009
Now you can just about, sometimes, get wi-fi on national express trains (which for some reason defaults to Swedish adverts and search results) it seems that my last bastion of uninterrupted work has been breached. A 6 hour train journey to Edinburgh used to yield a real burst of creativity and admin, but all I seem to have managed to do on this one is wait for blogs to slowly load. Look, I’ve even updated this page! Next time I’ll just bring pen and paper I think (but then I’ll probably only sadly draw some fake facebook updates). If you are reading this on a train, stop at once! This isn’t the freedom we thought it would be. To try and cleverly beat the system I am traveling back on a sleeper train (leaves Edinburgh at 11.30, arrives in London at 6.30am) ready for a full day’s work tomorrow helping open a branch of Barclays in Surbiton. (Sounds like the plot from a bond film doesn't it, but it's really my life!) That’s going to be a short, bad night of self-doubt, but at least I won’t be online I guess. http://www.tommyandtheweeks.co.uk 02/09/2009
If you're finding this website slightly underwhelming but only like websites with my face on it, then you'll be pretty damn excited to hear that Ed Weeks and I have finally launched a website for Tommy and the Weeks. We spent flipping ages on it, especially the new videos. But time is all very well, Is it any chop? Find out for yourselves... http://www.tommyandtheweeks.co.uk merry gig list 12/15/2008
Here, for those that are interested, is a current gig list for Tommy and the Weeks and selected solo gigs for the end of this year and the start of the new one. Yis! |
